Bantwal: Sleuths arrest a person selling parrots at Melkar under Wildlife Act

Bantwal, 14 Jan: Bengaluru CID sleuths arrested a person, accused of selling parrots at Melkar, here, on Friday, January 11.

 

 

The arrested has been identified as Abdul Latif, native of Navoor gram panchayat, here.

 

CID sub-inspector H K Ravikumar arrested Latif and seized 26 live parrots in 2 cages that he had sourced from Tamil Nadu.  The case was handed over to Bantwal range conservator of forests after registering case under Section 1072 of Wildlife Act.

 

Latif was presented before the judge at Bantwal court and further investigations will be carried out by Mangaluru range conservator of forests Shankare Gowda.
