Bolero falls into river from bridge - one dies, three rescued

Karkala, 12 Jan: Members of a family who had left to attend a marriage in a Mahindra Bolero vehicle faced peril after the vehicle jumped head on into the river from the bridge. One of the occupants of the vehicle, identified as Diana (45) from Bola village, lost her life.

 

Stany Mascarenhas from Padavu in Bola village, Karkala taluk, had left to attend a marriage function along with family in Mangaluru. He was accompanied by wife, Diana, and children, Shelden and Arman, in the vehicle. The vehicle they were in fell into River Shambhavi when crossing the bridge near Sankalakariya.

 

 

The locals who saw the vehicle plunging into the river immediately jumped into the river and rescued three persons. However, Diana had breathed her last before she could be helped out by the rescuers.
