Puttur: Spoken English Training Course inaugurated at St Philomena College

Puttur, 08 Jan: The inaugural programme of Certificate Course in Spoken English Training was organized by PG department of economics, St Philomena College, here, at their PG seminar hall, on Saturday, January 4.
The director of Suprabha Spoken English, Moodbidri – Sulatha Prabhakar inaugurated the Course.
Speaking on the occasion, Sulatha said, ‘English is the most spoken language in the world. There are millions of English speakers in the world. English is considered as the official language in 67 countries in the world.The command over English language is helpful to determine academic and career opportunities.’
The head of department of English of the College - Bharathi S Rai participated as the chief guest and spoke about the importance of English language.
The campus director and chairman of Centre for PG Studies & Research of the College Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro delivered the presidential address.
The coordinator of the department Prof Dinakara Rao and convener of Planning Forum Pradeep K S, Assistant Professors of the department MahithaKumari and Navyashri were present on this occasion.
Jayashri presented the prayer song. Ashwitha Shetty welcomed the gathering. The president of Planning Forum Shabana P proposed the vote of thanks. B T Sowmya compered the programme.
