Beltangady: Mother & son duo pilgrimage on old scooter arrive at Dharmasthala

Beltangady, 12 Dec: K Krishnakumar from Mysuru and his 70-year-old mother Choodaratna who are on pilgrimage across India on an old scooter arrived at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, here, on Tuesday, December 11. After paying obeisance to the temple deity Lord Manjunateshwar, the mother and son duo met Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade to seek his blessings.
The duo has already covered 24,000 kilometers visiting pilgrimage centers so far before arriving at Dharmasthala.
Krishnakumar’s father Dakshinamurti who retired after serving the forest department was passed away recently. Meanwhile, Choodaratna expressed her wish to go pilgrimage that inspired Krishnakumar to fulfill her wish on his old scooter.
‘I was determined to fulfill my mother’s wish out of her love as she had spent her major part of her life in the kitchen,’ said Krishnakumar.
‘The pilgrimage journey on an old scooter gives me wide experience. I am proud of my son,’ said Choodaratna.
The duo began their pilgrimage from Mysuru on January 16, 2018 and so far visited many temples in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra before arriving in Dharmasthala.
