Mangaluru: Teachers duty to satiate thirst for knowledge of students – Dr Uday

Mangaluru, 06 Dec: In this digital era, the students have numerous questions in their minds, while the teachers have the responsibility in answering them appropriately, said University College principal Dr Uday Kumar.
Dr Uday was speaking during daylong workshop on CBCS syllabus that was organized for biology lecturers at University College Shivaram Karant Auditorium, here, on Wednesday, December 5. It was held in collaboration with Mangalore University Biology Teachers Association – Vanasri.
He referred Gandhi’s biography and quoted My experiment with truth that also refers to science.
In his inaugural address, Mangalore University head of BOS Professor K R Chandrashekar said that choice based credit system in degree courses will be introduced shortly. Although it has maintained old syllabus several changes are being made. It’s subjected to minor changes based on inputs, he said. He also screened PowerPoint presentation of new syllabus.
The retired biology Professor Deviprasad of Vivekananda College and Dr Maria Lobo of St Agnes College were bestowed with Vanasri award.
Mangalore University physics Professor and dean Professor K M Balakrishna was the chief guest during valedictory function.
Vanasri president Dr Prasanna Rai welcomed the gathering. The treasurer Dr Siddaraju M N compered the programme. The secretary Dr Shobha and others were present.
