Bantwal: Kavita Trust® president lays emphasis on promoting Konkani through poetry

Bantwal, 08 Nov: ICYM Bantwal deanery organised Konkani poetry reciting competition in association with Kavita Trust® at Modankap School auditorium, here on Sunday, November 4.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Melvyn Rodrigues, founder president of Kavita Trust emphasised the importance of Konkani and to promote mother tongue. He briefed about the rules and regulations of the competition.

 

 

The competition was conducted in 2 categories, below 15 years and above 15 years. Around 30 participants took part in the competition. The jury comprised Andrew L D’Cunha, Avrel Rodrigues and Stany Bela.

 

On behalf of the jury Andrew congratulated all the participants and appreciated their parents for encouragement.

 

Fr Ashwin L Crasta, assistant parish priest of Infant Jesus parish, Modankap distributed certificates to the participants and addressed the gathering.

 

Sunil Lewis, animator of ICYM Bantwal deanery compered to the programme. Anisha Frank proposed the vote of thanks. ICYM president Avinash D’Souza and secretary Annette D’Souza compered the event.
