Udupi: Adani-UPCL commits to execute devt works @ Rs 1 crore in Bada GP

Udupi, 13 Oct: Adani owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) here, on Friday, October 12, handed over a confirmation letter to Bada gram panchayat committing execution of development works worth Rs 1 crore under its CSR during the financial year 2018-19.

 

Kishore Alva, joint president of Adani UPCL and Nagaratna Karkera, president of Bada gram panchayat, exchanged the confirmation letter and active plan for the financial year 2018-19 in the premises of Bada gram panchayat.

 

 

Later Alva spoke and informed that Adani UPCL has committed a special CSR package to 7 surrounding gram panchayats, under which Bada gram panchayat has been considered for Rs 3 crore over a period of 3 years. Under this package, Adani UPCL in association with Adani Foundation, till date has taken-up and completed 7 development works worth Rs. 38 lakhs and 14 development works worth Rs 55.50 lac are in the process of execution, which were included in active plan of panchayat, Alva added.

 

Alva further informed that the village development works are being monitored by in-house Civil team of Adani and it is ensuring delivering quality works for the benefit of the villagers aiming overall development at par with urban cities. The works identified by Panchayat in their active plan for the present financial year would be completed by the end of 2019, Alva said.

 

Nagaratna Karkera, who received the CSR Grant confirmation letter, expressed happiness for considering Bada villages under the CSR umbrella of Adani Foundation. She applauded the social development works initiated by the company and thanked for special package for Rural Infrastructure Development.
