Puttur: Hindi Fest, Indradanush held at St Philomena College

Puttur, 13 Sep 2018: On the occasion of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, Hindi Sabha of St Philomena College Puttur organized an intercollegiate Hindi Fest, Indradanush at the College auditorium, here, on September 11.

 

The campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro inaugurated the Fest and said, ‘Hindi is the official language of our nation. The language becomes the real language if it is spoken from the heart. Everyone must have the ability to hear and respond.’

 

The assistant general manager of Corporation Bank Ambarish Kumar Singh participated as the chief guest. He said, ‘Hindi is a very powerful language of communication. The language can play a predominant role in uniting the people belonging to different caste, creed, religion, culture and geographical locality.’

 

 

The principal Prof Leo Noronha said, ‘Hindi is a language which is very popularly spoken in north India. We must have magnanimity to appreciate other languages which are widely used in India.’

 

The Principal of St Philomena PU College Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo graced the occasion. The correspondent Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto presided over the programme.


Satwik Bedekar and team presented the prayer song. The Assistant Professor and coordinator of Fest Dr Dimple Jenifer Fernandes welcomed the gathering. The student coordinator Rakshith B proposed the vote of thanks. Kripa compered the programme.

 

The valedictory programme was held in the evening. The principal of PU College Fr Vijay Lobo honored the prize winners. Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro participated as the guest of honor. Prof Leo Noronha presided the programme.

 

This intercollegiate competition included the various events like poetry writing, debate, quiz, treasure hunt and group dance. Eight teams from UG section and nine teams from PU section have participated in this Fest. Under UG section overall championship was bagged by Poornaprajna College, Udupi and under PU section championship trophy was secured by St Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru.

 

Dr Dimple Jenifer Fernandes presented the list of prize winners. Jane Miranda compered the programme.
