Udupi: After huge success in Dubai; Konkani play, Vechogi Ravncho to enthrall native theater lovers

Udupi, 14 Jul 2018: Konkani play ‘Vechogi Ravncho’ by Saangon Mugdana Kalakar – theater group under the leadership of ‘Haasy Raay Kunvar’ Pradeep Barboza Paladka was staged at Emirates Theater, Jumeira, Dubai, on June 22. It created laughter riot in the auditorium. Konkani theater lovers in Dubai got an opportunity to witness the hilarious comedy drama that got thunderous applauses from viewers. The show was houseful disappointing many without tickets.

 

The storyline revolves around a bus stop and 2 shops attached to it in rural Mangaluru. The drama is a blend of family and love story, comedy and suspense. The script takes interesting turns when nearing the climax and captivates the viewers till the last. ‘Haasy Raay Kunvar’ Pradeep Barboza Paladka is the playwright of this drama who also directed it. Apart from Pradeep Barboza himself, Alphonse D’Souza Moodbelle, Godwin Castelino Attur, Royston Kiran D’Souza Balkunje, Vernon D’Souza Bajjody, Paul D’Souza Paladka, Nanu Marol Thottam, Helvin Barboza Kuloor, Laveena Fernandes Pangala, and Venicia Rodrigues Alangar were artistes cast in the play. Rohan Lobo of Kalaakul, lone Konkani repertory promoted by Mangaluru-based Mandd Sobhann provided the melodious that was the highlight of the show.

 

 

With this huge success, ‘Saangon Mugdana Kalakar’ is all set to present this play for theater lovers of Udupi district.  Accordingly, it will be staged at Anugraha Bayalu Mantapa, Kinnigoli, on Saturday, August 11, at 6:30pm, in aid of building presbytery at St Paul Church, Balkunje, near here.

 

The second show will be organized by ‘Niranthar, Udyavar – A Platform for Cultural Activities, a group of Udyavar parishioners at Town Hall, Udupi, on Sunday, August 12 at 04:00pm.

 

Saangon Mugdhana Kalaakar – theater group key co-ordinator Diany D Souza informed that their group will be happier to perform in front of our own home crowd and it’s a privilege for them. The entire group is assured of their best performance as both shows are for noble cause. He has urged all the Konkani theater lovers from Kinnigoli, Udupi and neighboring parishes to be part of this wonderful comedy play Drama and support the organizers.
