Bantwal: Human greed destroying eco-environment – Manunat Acharya

Bantwal, 07 Jul 2018: The humans are living amidst selfish needs. He is destroying the needs for his greed. It’s a dangerous development, said Manjunat Acharya, president of Rotary Club – Bantwal.
Acharya was speaking after distributing plants to students during Vanamahotsava programme that was jointly organized by Rotary Club – Bantwal and social forestry department at Balavikasa English Medium School, Mani, near here, on Friday, July 6.
The deforestation is causing landslides that should motive one to plant more trees, urged Manjunat.
The School correspondent J Prahlad Shetty said, ‘We plant many saplings every year, but they wane because of uncaring.’ He appealed the students to care for the saplings that they plant.
The social forestry department officer Rajesh spoke on the significance of Vanamahotsav.
Balavikasa Trust chairman B S Naik, school administrator C Sridar, Bantwal taluk working journalists Association president Mounesh Vishwakarma, Rotary Club members Pushparaj Hegde, Prabhakar Prabhu and Padma, High School head teacher Vijayalaxmi V Shetty, Primary School head teacher Grace P Saldanha and others were present.
