Beltangady: Veerendra Heggade shares health benefits of daily yoga practice on World Yoga Day

Beltangady, 22 Jun 2018: Yoga is not limited to any caste, religion or any linguists. In order to maintain health of mind and body, daily yoga practice is essential, said Karnataka minor irrigation minister C S Puttaraju.
Puttaraju was speaking during 4th World Yoga Day celebration that was held at Amrutavarshini hall of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, here, on Thursday, June 21.
MLA Harish Punja said, ‘India got recognition for yoga that is also necessary to attain spiritual bliss.’
Rajeev Gandhi University of Health Sciences vice chancellor Dr M K Ramesh and NSS regional director Kartikeyan conveyed best wishes.
In his presidential address, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade said, ‘We become one with mankind by celebrating World Yoga Day every year. Yoga promotes well being of both mind and body, keeps in check our senses thereby leads us to live in peace and happiness.’
He advised to practice yoga daily to keep away from doctor. He also said that he does yoga daily for half an hour in the mornings and goes for walking 3 kilometers in the evenings.
Hemavati V Heggade, former Karnataka minister Abayachandra Jain, MLC Harish Kumar, Syndicate Bank DGM Timmayya were present.
SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Science principal Dr Prashant Shetty welcomed the gathering. Yoga and moral education director Dr Sasikant Jain proposed vote of thanks. Dr Jasmine compered the programme.
Mega display of yoga was presented by a large numbers of participants.
