Udupi: Holy Cross arrives at St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle from Kuntalnagar

Udupi/M’Belle, 20 Jun 2018: The Holy Cross which is on its journey to different parishes of Udupi Diocese arrived at St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle from St. Antony’s Parish, Kuntlanagar on Wednesday, 20 June 2018 at 5 pm. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish priest of Moodubelle along with Fr. Prakash Lobo (OFM Cap) and a large number of parishioners waited for the Holy Cross in front of the church portico.
At 5 pm, Fr. Wilson along with Fr. Lawrence, Fr. Vikas and a number of parishioners from Kuntlanagar arrived with the Holy Cross. Fr. Wilson, Parish Priest of St. Antony’s Church, Kuntlanagar handed over the Holy Cross to Fr. Clement Mascarenhas who carried it inside the church and placed it on the pedestal in front of the main altar.
Fr. Praksh Lobo conducted the veneration of the Holy Cross with brief homilies, prayers, hymns and a short Way of the Cross linked to Divine Mercy invocations.
The Holy Cross will be venerated by parishioners distributed Ward wise in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle on Thursday full day and Friday till 3 pm. On Friday, at 3 pm Holy Mass will be offered and at 4 pm, the Holy cross will be taken to Christ the King Church, Manipal.
About the Journey of the Holy Cross:
Under the leadership of the Charismatic Directorate of India the ‘Journey of the Holy Cross’ has been organized in all of the 174 Catholic Diocese of India. The Holy Cross will be taken to each and every parish of each diocese. The Holy Cross arrived in Udupi Diocese on 29 May 2018 at Stella Maris Church, Kalmady where it was received solemnly by Fr. Alban D’Souza, Parish Priest of the Church. From there it was taken to other parishes before it arrived at Kuntalnagar and Moodubelle. The journey of the Holy Cross will continue throughout the Diocese. The journey of the Holy Cross will culminate at Potta Retreat Centre in Kerala in the third week of November where a four day long rally will be conducted.
