Mumbai, 27 May 2018: The rural folks and Kannadigas settled in cities and towns across country are indeed doing their mite in sustaining mother tongue Kannada, while it’s unfortunate in motherland that is not the case. Kannadigas settled in Mumbai are striving to promote Kannada and its distinct culture. I have been writing for living, while I grew because of friends who are interested in my literature. I grew faster as a result of me selling my books overnight and earned income. All that has gone into bagging the award, said Subraya Chokkady, litterateur, well known poet, critic and teacher.
