Mangaluru, 27 May 2018: Supriya Anchan yane Chandini Anchan who got a break in Tulu album has already become an accomplished actor both in Telugu and Kannada. She hails from Mangaluru and has strong faith in cine career. ‘I am a Mangalurean and acting is I like the most. Although, I am busy in shooting movies in other languages, I am ready whenever I am offered a role in my hometown,’ said Chandini.
From ramp to movies
I have studied at St Ann’s education institution in Mangaluru and completed B Sc from Kuvempu University. I was involved in dance and modelling in college life and my interest in modelling was perfected by taking part in Miss Glory of India held at New Delhi during 2014. I practiced ramp walk and aspired to become an actress, said Chandini.
Most satisfied role
I got many offers after my successful debut in Tulu album, Mokeda Magal. I got a small role in Telugu movie, Rudra IPS and got a major break in sandalwood movie, Home Minister, acting with versatile actor Upendra. It was a great opportunity to learn when Uppi shared many acting tips. Later, I got offers from Telugu movie makers. Now, I am busy acting in both Telugu and Kannada movies simultaneously. Meanwhile, Mahendra Car Street, producer and director of Tulu movie, Karnikada Kallurti that is the unique movie on spirit worship practiced in Tulunadu offered me a role that is indeed challenging, said Chandini.
I also got offers from Bollywood and talks are underway. The shooting for Tulu movie, Karnikada Kallurti will be held across coastal Karnataka in a month. Once it’s over, I will return to Mumbai. The talks are underway to get offer in Tamil movie. All this I manage altogether. Classical music that I have learnt is helpful in this regard. I am also attending Hindustani music classes, said Chandini.
Whenever I get offers from movies, I discuss with my mother and sister and take their advice. In any case, I will not take decision alone, said Chandini.
