Elroy Kiran Crasto in his speech on ‘Political and Social Leadership’ said that it is not enough for the Catholics to confine their activities within the four walls of the church. It is important for them to take up appropriate leadership in political and social sphere as well by integrating themselves with other communities and taking up issues of common interest. He further said that during and soon after the freedom struggle many Christians were active in political and social fields. However, gradually their number went on declining. He urged the Christians to take up opportunities in elections to the local bodies such as village, taluk and zilla panchayats and make their presence felt.
Mrs. Shalet Furtado in her address gave a list of various land records which are necessary to lay claim over the inheritance of property. She pointed out the common mistakes committed by many inheritors of not verifying the land records when the elders in the family pass away.
