Bantwal: SDPI helps a native undergoing employer’s abuse in KSA to return home

Bantwal, 24 Mar 2018: Karnataka SDPI helped a native of Bantwal who was working in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in distress over ill treatment by his Kafeel (employer) to return to India, with their humanitarian associates in KSA.
Sukumar Shettigar, a native of Bondala, near Kalladka, in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada was employed in KSA as a driver since a few months. The employer was initially treating Sukumar well, but later began to abuse him. Sukumar had informed his brother Shankar over the phone about the ill treatment, while the later hoped situation would improve for better.
Meanwhile, the social activist Shakir Hak Nelyady posted a facebook message to help Sukumar who is in KSA and suffering from ill treatment by his employer.
Riyaz Farangipet, SDPI Karnataka president and candidate for upcoming legislative assembly election who is active in social media appealed his associates Indian Social Forum, a humanitarian unit of NRIs in KSA capital Riyadh, to help Shanker out of the trouble.
Indian Social Forum president and Indian Consulate Committee member Hanif Manjeshwar and social activist Tanveer Maindala contacted Shankar who expressed his ordeal in the hands of his employer. They admitted Shanker in a hospital where he was treated at their cost and will arrange his airfare to return to India. It’s the earnest efforts by Riyaz Farangipet that the distressed Shanker will unite with his family back home in a week.
Riyaz Farangipet and his associates also visited the family of Shanker and assured his brother Sukumar and others that he will join them safely. Sukumar thanked Riyaz for being Samaritan in helping his brother Shankar to get out of trouble fit and fine.
