Udupi: Pamboor Hr Pry School headmaster Herald D’Mello retires after 34 yrs service

Udupi, 19 Mar 2018: The teacher’s profession is personification of simplicity, honest, humanity and service oriented. The devotion to duty and hard work of teacher contributes for the integral growth of students and their school. The students achievement is indeed the laurels for the teacher, said Fr Dr Lawrence C D’Souza, secretary of Udupi diocesan Catholic Education Board.
Fr Dr Lawrence was speaking during the farewell function of Herald D’Mello, headmaster of Pamboor parish Higher Primary School, near here, on Saturday, March 17. Herald retired after putting in 34 years of service including 24 years as headmaster.
He further said, ‘Herald found God in his profession without longing for awards in his life.’
Fr Paul Rego, parish priest of Holy Cross parish, Pamboor and correspondent said that Herald was instrumental in organizing school annual day and inspiring students to take part in extracurricular activities.
The alumni Chaitra and Henita Menezes, retired headmaster B Ramachandra Prabhu, Pamboor parish council vice president and alumnus Prakash Noronha also spoke on the occasion.
The teacher Hilda Mathias read the citation letter.
Herald D’Mello thanked everyone for their co-operation.
Magdalene Veigas and Mabel Menezes were present at the dais.
SDMC president Shivakumar welcomed the gathering. The retired teacher Maurice Noronha, Roydon D’Mello, Shaina D’Mello and others were also present.
PTA president Ronald Sequeira proposed vote of thanks.
