‘Sophiya’ set for grand release in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi from January 19

Dubai, 13 Jan 2018: ’Sophiya…A Dream Girl’ super hit Konkani Movie produced by Janet Noronha Productions and directed by Bollywood and Bhojpuri ace director Harry Fernandes staring multi-lingual actress Esther Noronha, Elton Mascarenhas and Shelton Crasta is all set to hit UAE theaters on January 19, 26 and February 2 with shows across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Musaffah, Sharjah and Al Ain.
Great preparation is going on as well-known great Philanthropist Ronald Colaco will be coming all the way from India to grace the function as chief guest along with priest of St Mary’s Church Dubai, Fr Robert Lasrado and other guests. Recipient of various national and international awards, Ronald Colaco is also a Rajyotsava awardee from government of Karnataka for his various noble deeds. The premiere and inauguration will be held at 1 pm on Friday January 19. Lead actress Esther Noronha will be there to greet Konkani movie lovers along with producer Janet Noronha. Most of the tickets have been already sold out and very few tickets are available on first come first basis.

Another full show will be held at 4.00 pm in Galleria on January 19 with the support of another great philanthropist Martin Aranha of Globelink West Star Shipping Co of UAE. Martin Aranha has in the past supported various Konkani movies. He is a simple and humble personality who supports charity quietly by helping needy individuals and institutions.

Abu Dhabi Show is on January 26 at 4 pm in WTC, Novo Cinemas and Cynthia D’Cunha an active Konkani theatre lover has voluntarily taken up the responsibility along with Valerian Almeida of KCO Abu Dhabi and has distributed almost major portion of the tickets. Very few tickets are left now.
There is a great demand to have one show in Mussafah and one show in Al Ain as the Konkani Church leaders in these areas have approached the distributors. Dates of these shows are yet to be finalized when theaters are available.
Sharjah Show is on February 2 at 4 pm in Novo Cinemas, Mega Mall and Cynthia Goveas, another strong Konkani supporter in Sharjah, has voluntarily taken over the responsibility to successfully conclude a houseful show there.
More shows are in the pipeline and will be arranged through the distributors Sandhya Creations. Any Konkani Association or persons, willing to do a special screening, can contact either the producer or the distributor.
Soon Sophiya will be moving on to Muscat, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar with various shows as demand has already started pouring in.
The first ever woman producer of Konkani movies, Janet Noronha, is very happy to see the demand for her first ever movie in her mother tongue and is willing to do take up more projects after the success of Sophiya.
Multitalented daughter of Janet Noronha, the lead actress Ester Noronha, who has many successful movies in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Konkani and Tulu, is blessed with appreciations from all over the world for her acting, singing and dancing talents.

’Sophiya’ remains unique and special out of the many films released this year. The film being a family entertainer is being watched by women, children and families. The story received praise from all quarters wherever released. A good message is given in the film to the audience with a dash of comedy.
With lyrics by Ancy D’Souza Paladka and Harry Fernandes, Sophiya has soulful music composed by Gunwant Sen and songs sung by Ester Noronha, Anthony Tauro, Gunwant Sen, Dashiel Concessao and Roop Sha. Beautiful dances were ably choreographed by Dilip Mestry. Picturesque locations were captured by director of photography, Shafeeq Shaikh which was crisply edited by Abhishek Maskar. Action Director Sunil Rodrigues has done justice to action scenes. With the art direction of Wilfred Pinto the film has classic designer Suraj Ravi and assistant director, Roystan Balkunje in the team. The entire movie was capably handled by production manager, Satish Brahmavar.
