Dubai: Mukut Mogarnad celebrates first Parish Feast with fun-filled family get-together

Dubai, 27 Feb 2017: Mogarnad parishioners in Dubai had a memorable fun-filled family get-together at Zabeel Park, here on Friday, February 24.

 

In spite of bad weather forecast, big number of Parishioners gathered as early as 9.00am for their first ever celebration of annual parish feast here in UAE.

 

The day began with invoking the blessings of Almighty and patroness Mother Mary through the beautiful prayer led by Walter Lobo and his team. The Celebration started at 10.00am with a tasty breakfast of Idlis, Golibaje and tea. The vice president, Delson D’Silva welcomed the gathering. The president, Ronald Martis explained the purpose of establishing the newly formed association, Mukut Mogarnad and its future vision.

 

 

The Committee members: Ronald Martis (president), Delson D’Silva (vice president), Violet D’Souza (secretary), Clarin D’Souza (joint secretary), Lloyd Lobo (treasurer), Avil D’Silva (cultural secretary), Mukty Prakash (sports secretary), William Lobo, Wilfred Lobo, Maxim D’Almeida and Sunil Pasanna (advisors) was introduced to the gathering.

 

Each and everyone gathered was happy and excited to meet friends of the good old-days in the school and the parish. The programme was beautifully conducted and managed by Delson D’Silva, which started with a warm up game of Treasure Hunt and thereafter, there was no stop for the games and fun filled variety of activities until 5.00pm. The gathering was divided into 4 groups and each was given a color code: orange, green, red and yellow.

 

With maximum points ’Orange’ under the captainship of Nelson Crasta, emerged as the winner of the day.

 

Sumptuous lunch with Mangalorean dishes was served. Tambde Gule, Sukrunde, flutes, horns and whistles added Vodle Fest flavor to the celebration. The program concluded at 5.00pm with distribution of gifts to the winners. Sunil Pasanna rendered the vote of thanks. The organizing team was satisfied with the success and the enthusiasm of all the participants. All the parishioners gathered, have shown keen interest in building the organization to new heights and have vouched their support and co-operation for all future events and projects.
