M’luru: Bajjody parishioners bid adieu to visionary parish priest Fr Melvyn D’Cunha

Mangaluru, 25 May 2015: The parishioners of newly-built Infant Mary parish, Bajjody, here bid adieu to visionary and dynamic parish priest Fr Melvyn D’Cunha here after Sunday Mass on May 24.

 

Fr Melvyn celebrated Thanksgiving Mass at the church along with the new parish priest Fr Jossy Cyril, Fr Shabas Crasta, Fr Deepu Fernandes and Fr Elias D’Souza on the occasion.

 

Bikarnakatte – St Joseph’s Monastery superior Fr Joe Tauro presided the programme.

 

 

Fr Melvyn, Fr Deepou, Fr Elias, Fr Jossy Cyril, the local corporator Keshava, Bajjody parish council vice president Joseph Mascarehnas and secretary Irene Pinto were present at the dais.

 

Irene Pinto shared memories of Fr Melvyn who is the architect of Infant Mary’s church. 

 

Fr Deepu felicitated Fr Melvyn by draping a shawl and presented with fruits and mementoes.

 

Fr Melvyn thanked the parishioners for their support during his mission of constructing the church.

 

Infant Jesus ward Gurkar Zeena proposed vote of thanks. The teacher Aloysius D’Souza compered the programme.
