Moodubelle: Annual Day Celebrations of St. Lawrence PU College

Moodubelle, 27 November 2010: St. Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle celebrated annual day on 26 November 2010 at the College hall. The program included the flag hoisting ceremony, prize distribution to students and the entertainment programs by the students of High School and PU College students. The celebration was conducted in two sessions the morning program and the after noon program.

 

The celebrations started with the morning programs at 09.30 am, which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes - Correspondent, St. Lawrence Educational Institutions, Moodubelle. Chief Guest of the function was Dr. B.V, Mahidas - Deputy Director, Department of Public Education, Udupi. The Guests of Honour present on the occasion were, Shankar Patwal - Branch Manager Syndicate Bank Moodubelle, Peter Raphael Aranha - Headmaster Higher Primery School Moodubelle, Henry Fernandes – Vice President Parish Pastoral Council St. Lawrence Church Moodubelle.

 

 

Program began with the flag hoisting by Shankar Patval. He spoke and said in life one must have ambition. But only ambition is not enough, one must work hard to achive the goal. He also appreciated the students on their very good discipline. After the flag hoisting ceremony the program continued in the college hall.

 

Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira - Principal of St. Lawrence Pre University College welcomed the guests, dignitaries and the gathering. On the dias Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes, Dr. B.V, Mahidas, Shankar Patwal, Peter Raphael Aranha, Hendry Fernandes, Deeksha - College Pupil Leader and Vinaya - High School Pupil Leader were also present.

 

Prize distribution was conducted to the students who excelled in subjects, literary and also in sports. The morning program was compeered by Shurthi D’Souza. Deeksha proposed vote of thanks.

 

After noon programs began at 02.30 pm with prayers by students. Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes - Correspondent, St. Lawrence Educational Institutions, Moodubelle, presided over the function. Chief Guest of the function was MJF Ln. Prof. Wilfred D’Souza - Former District Lions Governor. Guests of Honour present on the occasion were Dr. Alwyn D’Sa – Head English Department St. Aloysius College Mangalore, Devdas Hebbar - President Old Students Association, Shilpa Nayak - President Parents Teachers Association and Vinaya – High School Pupil Leader.

 

Srinivas Ballal welcomed the guests, dignitaries and the gathering. Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira - Principal of St. Lawrence Pre University College read the annual report. Prize distribution ceremony was conducted for the students excelled in sports and studies.

 

 

Prof. Wilfred D’Souza and Dr. Alwyn D’Sa were honoured by Rev. Fr. Jowsey Fernandes and were presented with a momento. Prof. Wilfred D’Souza spoke on the occasion and said the word education is derived from the Latin word "yede chere", however demonstrating our talent is the real education. There is no end to the education. Whenever we do a good work we will have self satisfaction. He also expressed his best wishes to the students and told them they have a good future ahead of them.

 

Dr. Alwyn D’Sa, spoke on the occasion and shared many topics with the students. He also wished them all the best. Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes, in his presidential address wished the students all the success and expressed his best wishes.

 

Sarojini proposed vote of thanks. Students conducted cultural programs which entertained everyone.
