Moodubelle: St. Lawrence Composite PU College to host Zonal Pratibha Karanji on 23 November 2010

Moodubelle, 17 November 2010: The Zonal Pratibha Karanji competition among the students of higher primary and high school students of various educational institutions in two clusters of Alevoor and Olakadu will be held on 23 November 2010 in the auditorium of St. Lawrence PU College hall, Moodubelle. The competition will be organised by St. Lawrence Composite PU College in association with the Church Aided Higher Primary School and St. Lawrence English medium High School. The chief aim of the Pratibha Karanji has been to identify the various talents latent among the students and provide them an opportunity to manifest these talents.
It is expected that around one thousand students from these two clusters will participate in this prestigious Pratibah Karanji competition. Around 60 teachers from different schools will judge the talents of the students in various categories as judges. The competitions will be held in three phases. In phase one-students from first to fourth standards will be compete; in the second phase, students from fifth to seventh standards will exhibit their talents; and in phase three, students from eighth to tenth standard will participate in the competition.
In the first and second phases (primary and higher primary)students will participate in 16 individual and 6 group items and in the third phase (high school) students will participate in 23 individual and 7 group items. All these competitions comprising of both the clusters will be completed on the same day, that is, on 23 November 2010.
In order to organise such a competition on large scale the Correspondent of the parish educational institutions, headmasters and principal of these institutions, Old Students ‘ Association, Parents and Teachers’ Association, Lions Club of Belle, parents of the students and eminent person from Belle and surrounding regions have jointly shouldered the responsibility. Arrangements for snacks, tea-coffee and meals for nearly 2000 persons will be made on the day of the competition.
In order to organize the Pratibha Karanji competitions in a smooth and efficient manner nine committees have been formed under the presidentship of the Principal of St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Fr. Paul Sequeira. The total expenses to organise this huge programme would be around Rs. 75,000/- As the education department will not be providing any monetary assistance, the organizers of these competitions have requested the institutions, donors and well wishers to contribute generously. So far there has been encouraging response from some quarters.
The Pratibha Karanji Competitions will begin at 9 am on 23 November 2010 and will conclude at 5 pm. All the competitions will be held in three institutions-Church Aided Higher Primary School, St. Lawrence English medium High School and St. Lawrence Composite PU College. The students who secure first, second and third positions will be awarded certificates and shields. Banners and media will be used to give wide publicity to this prestigious competition. The successful conduct of these Pratibha Karanji competitions will not only enhance the reputation of the parish educational institutions, but will be a matter of pride to all the people of Belle.
