As Victor said, the Gulf countries spend a lot of money to maintain these beautiful flower lawns and gardens by the side of the roads and parks. I had seen such beautiful road-side flower beds in Dubai and Muscat during my recent visit to these two cities. However, the pictures in this report indicate that Doha has excellent desert gardens. Thanks Victor for your wonderful and pleasing presentation.

This nothing new for Belle. Surprisingly people of Moodubelle are used to these issues and prefer to be silent spectators.
Actually only the people spoiled the working of these Telephone Exchanges for 2 reasons :
1. When any such connection outage happens, no one protests instead accepts it as a routine issue. Unless we protest this, same situation will continue.
2. Also most of the people approach the Telephone exchange and offer them small amount of bribe to rectify the faults. Whoever pays will get back the connection. So we only spoiled the working of telephone exchanges by bribing them and not protesting.
I had the first hand experience when my connection was out for almost 15 days last year. I approached Belle exchange 2 times but no use. Then I went to Main Technical exchange at Udupi (after Kalsanka, before MGM college). One officer was so lethargic that he started to give me lecture about the governments support to private telecom operators ... etc. After one hour of arguing with him, I finally met a senior officer who promised to get it repaired. Just before I reach my house in 2 hours, the phone was rectified. So people fight for the right when we pay so much tax.

It is a great initiative by Catholic Sabha Unit of Moodubelle organizing the Workshop on Scholarship Facilities to Minority Students. This shows that our parish leaders really care for the community. Capitalizing on the collective knowledge and information, working together like this can make a difference in the foreseeable future. We must thank Dr. Eugene and Bellevision for the quick reporting of this workshop and spreading the awareness through the readers.

Moodubelle Telephone exchange has been providing this type of lethargic and unacceptable service level to the consumers for decades now. At regular intervals land line goes dead for weeks. I wonder if people of Belle can get hold of contact details of officials willing to attend to the chronic service disorder problem!

Dear reporter and other customers of BSNL services, it is better to give up hopes rather than getting disappointed in the future. We have personal experience about this a couple of years ago. And finally we landed up having the wireless phone from BSNL.And this wireless phone is just for name sake and in case of emergency you had it!. On one side we are boasting that our achievement in communication industry and on other hand we are like in third world country. Especially one of the most progressed district in communication in whole country.
The service provider are not at all bothered for the quality of service and moreover indirectly forcing the consumer to switch over to the services of private firms.
So we are puzzled about these things. Not only us , the influential people like so called leaders are have the same opinion.I feel it is the high time for all us to come together and protest strongly and pressurize the concerned department officials to take immediate action , so that these services will be benefited for the common man.

The monsoon forecasted for this year by the Earth Sciences Minister is very good news and, if it comes true, will ensure a bumper harvest. If the rains are normal and well distributed it will relieve farmers and help boost the overall farm economy.

Victor DSouza, Moodubelle / Doha
15/05/2010 01:35:30

As rightly mentioned by the reporter, the land telephone service is very poor in Moodubelle. In spite of repeated complaints there is no action being taken. When anybody succeed in meeting their staff and complain, they just give false commitments, which never take place. They would also give so many excuses. The service provider advertises in TVs which actually never happens. It is high time the service provider BSNL wakes up and clean the mess of these inefficient staff.

The ward has an important historical place Kuduremale a considerably high hill with thick forest which has probably associated with horses as the name of the place suggest. Dr. Eugene Got it right but on top of the hill I have seen there is two ditches curved on the laterite stone mura kallu round in shape half a meeter wide nearly one and half a feet deep probably soldiers using to feed their horses that what we heard from our ancestors. Late Monnu Master s family contributed a lot in various religious congregation I saw him he was a very active person in our church May God bless his soul and family.

Fisrt of all million thanks to Mr. Jerry for taking so much initiate for the success of this project. It will be a boon to to all villagers who lives both side of this river during monsoon and as well as other seasons. Hope the contractor maintained good quality of workmanship and standard methods of construction. The failure of the vented dams which were constructed in recent past raised doubt in people s mind about the success of the same. I request contractor to maintain the standard of construction and make sure the success of the project so that tax payers money is utilized properly. As the monsoon season is approaching the contractor need to speed up the work in both day and night shifts for the timely completion of the decking slabs and approach roads. Requesting Mr. Jerry to take lead in completing other projects which are in pipeline during his tenure for the benefits of villagers.
