Veteran Yakshagana artiste Bellare Vishwanatha Rai passes away

Mangaluru, 07 Jul 2022: Veteran Yakshagana artiste of `Kadamallige’ fame, Bellare Vishwanatha Rai passed away at his residence at Keyyur village late night on July 6, Wednesday following a brief illness. He was 73.

 

 

Vishwanatha Rai who had served Karnataka Mela for 35 years was also associated with Suratkal, Kadri, Kuntaru, Bappanadu, Kateel and Edneer Melas where he had served for short terms.

 

He was also the recipient of several awards including Yakshanidhi and Pulincha Ramayya Shetty Awards.
