Bantwal: 20 couples ties wedding-knot at mass weddings organized by Swastik Friends Club

Bantwal, 25 Apr 2022: Swastik Friends Club® created a new history through organizing mass weddings, said Swami Mohandas of Manila mutt, near here.
Swami Mohandas was speaking after blessing the bride and bridegrooms at the 14th mass weddings celebration that was organized by Swastik Friends Club, Punjalkatte at Bangle maidan, Punjalkatte, here on Sunday April 24.
He lauded the simple nuptial ceremony that would pave the way for debt-free weddings.
He also congratulated Tungappa Bangera for taking the leadership of mass wedding that gives immense mental bliss which cannot be found in politics.
Speaking on the occasion, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Nayak Ulipadiguttu said that it’s the noble deed in organizing mass weddings. Meanwhile, he assured to upgrade Bangle maidan into indoor stadium. Punjalkatte PHC will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 6 crore. The foundation will be laid for constructing Narayana Guru Residential School at Punjalkatte at a cost of Rs 29 crore as it was already proposed in the recent budget, said Nayak.
Badajeguttu Ravishankar Shetty, chairman of Mahalingeshwar temple governing body, Padamale distributed the Mangalasutra to the brides.
Satish Shetty, district director of SKDRP presided the programme.
Mumbai entrepreneur Sundar Raj Hegde couple, BJP DK district president Sudarshan M, KIONICS president Harikrishna Bantwal, Karnataka former minister Nagaraj Shetty, entrepreneur Harindra Pai, Bantwal BJP president Devappa Poojary, Pilatabettu gram panchayat president Harshini Pushpanand, vice president Laxminarayana Hegde, Bantwal taluk panchayat member Madhava Mave, former ZP member Manjua Mave, Tulunad Rakshana Vedike president Ramesh Shetty, Majalody Pilatabettu and others were present.
The Club president Prashant Punjalkatte, secretary Jayaraj Attaje, honorary president Abdulla P and others were present.
Twenty couples were wedded during the mass wedding programme.
