Beltangady, 11 Mar: India’s unity in diversity is what it makes distinct from other nations of the world, said Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
Heggade was speaking after inaugurating Bharatiya Loka Utsav Dharmasthala – 2020, cultural extravaganza held at Dharmasthala, here on Tuesday, March 10. It was organized by union ministry of culture – south zone based at Thanjavoor in TN.
He further said, ‘A garland of flowers woven with different varieties becomes attractive. Mahatma Gandhi also followed religious route in freedom struggle,’ said Heggade.
Prof Balasubramanya, director of South zone Culture Centre based at Thanjavoor said, ‘Youth are the forbearers of ancient tradition and culture.’ He advised the youth to join in making Ek Bharat, Shrest Bharat, as the union ministry of culture has organized the event for the benefit of rural youth.
SDM College principal Dr S Satischandra welcomed the gathering. Prof Sunil Pandit compered the programme.
Assamese dance, Bahoo that was presented after the stage programme was much appreciated by the spectators.
The folk dances of J & K, Kerala, Mizoram and Karnataka was also presented.
