Mangaluru, 07 May: Protesting against the state government’s move of arresting two journalists, Dakshina Kannada BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel alleged that the state government is curbing the right to freedom of expression.
Speaking at the protest meet, held in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday, May 6, Kateel said that the coalition government will topple after ammouncencement of Lok Sabha results.
Since few Congress leaders are eyeing the chief ministerial post, Kumaraswamy is afraid that he may lose the chair and hence is indulging in hate politics while ignoring developmental activities.
Addressing the protesters Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyasa Kamath said that the state government was targeting those who spoke against the coalition. He questioned why no action was taken against a former MLA who made derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite a complaint being registered.
He further added that the chief minister makes controversial statements against the people of the coastal region but prefers the coast for relaxing and refreshing.
