Mangaluru, 03 May: DK district Deputy Commissioner Sasikant Sentil here, on Thursday, May 2, instructed the taluk Tahsildars to draw action plan on managing natural disaster in this coming monsoon based on the calamities of last year.
He instructed taluk penal officers to set up network by forming efficient teams who would swiftly rush to the spots in collaboration with control room.
He also advised the officials to collaborate with fire brigade, police and concerned department officials in identifying flood, landslide and sea erosion spots before the onset of monsoon.
The drains across the municipal area to be cleared to avoid flash floods, added DC.
The district fire brigade is all set with necessary apparatus in order to attend to any eventualities during the summer, informed district fire officer T N Shivashanker.
District Indian Red Cross Society (IRSC) has over 100 volunteers who could assist the district administration in any natural calamities, said district IRSC honorary secretary Prabhakar Sharma.
ADC Venkatachalapaty, SP Laxmiprasad, DySP Srinivas Gowda, municipal assistant commissioners Ravichandra Nayak and Krishnamurti and other officials were present.
