Udupi, 07 Mar 2018: The students opting for arts is increasing in the country, while in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district, known for intellectuals, the people have wrong notion that commerce is better than arts degree and arts students have no future. The student strength of arts is dwindling over the years. However, arts students also have better demands and future, said Professor Norbert Lobo, head of department of economics, St Aloysius College (autonomous).
Professor Norbert was delivering a talk on Employment opportunities for arts students and in higher education that was organized by humanities association of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here, on Tuesday, March 6.
A book titled, Public Administration, both in Kannada and English that was authored by head of department of politics, Dr S Padmanabha Bhat for III B A students was released on the same occasion.
St Mary’s College principal Professor Rajan V N presided the programme and released book authored by Dr Padmabha Bhat on International Relations Chapter I and the student Denzel Ferrao released the Chapter II.
Professor Melvyn Castelino welcomed the gathering. Dr Padmanabha delivered the preliminary address. The director Professor Poornima and student union leader Fatima were present. Chitra Devadiga proposed vote of thanks. Meghana Kamat compered the programme.
