Guilty horse in Vidya Niketan School, Kaup

The horse that was in  the news for  breaking the metal detector in the security gate at Udupi’s Ratha Beedhi is presently in the Vidya Niketan Group of Educational Institutions to give the students an experience of riding a horse. As the owner of the horse paid the prescribed fine for the damage that was caused by the horse to the court, the horse was released.

The Director of Vidya Niketan Group of Educational Institutions, Mr. K.P. Acharya who was impressed by the horse has taken the horse to the institution. The horse which had retired from racing was brought to the coast from Mysore by its owner-Ajgar with the intention of earning some livelihood and had gone to meet the Swamiji of the Udupi Mutt when the mishap had taken place. Mr. K.P. Acharya in a statement to the press said that the horse would be used to give the students of the institution an experience of horse ride.

The Udupi District Collector P. Hemalatha has said that the District Administration is fully prepared to meet any kind of natural calamities. She was speaking at the practical training that was carried on for Fire Brigade, District Home Guards, District Police Department, District Red Cross Organisation and other associations recently in the Udyavara river near Katapadi.
