Belle Local Residents urge immediate Repairs to Manasa – Madhwa Nagar Road

Udupi,29 Jan 2013: The local residents of Padubelle presented a memorandum to Belle gram panchayat president Rajendra Shetty, demanding to re-asphalt or at least undertake urgent repairs to deplored two-kilometer road, access road from Manasa Special School, Pamboor – Narayana Guru Education institution to Madhwa Nagar, here on Monday January 28.  The road has in deplored state for several years.

 

 

A public meeting was convened at Padubelle town, near here on Monday morning.

 

Paduabelle Geleyara Balaga, Yuva Spoorti Friends, Navachetana Mahila Mandal and Padubelle residents, TP past president Kattingeri Devdas Hebbar, Belle gram panchayat former president Sasidar Wagle, gram panchayat members Sunita B Shetty and Parasuram Bhat were present at the occasion.

The local residents of Padubelle drew the attention over allotting door numbers to encroached and legalized housing sites, drinking water woes, street lights and toilet facilities in their locality. 

 

Speaking at the occasion, the former gram panchayat president Sasidar Wagle said that a detailed report will be presented to Tahsildar, after reviewing the encroached and legalized housing plots.  He also offered information on development works that can be executed under National Employment Guarantee Programme.

 

Rajendra Shetty said that the developmental works are expedited by giving jolt to peoples representatives.  He also stressed that it’s owing to unpaid energy bills to the tune of Rs 18 lac, the village council finds it difficult to provide street lights.  Meanwhile, he assured that he will try to fulfill their pleas with the help of peoples representatives.

 

TP member Devdas Hebbar said that the renovation of community hall is under way with the funds provided under MLA Lalaji R Mendon at a cost of Rs 5 lac.  He also assured to undertake repairs to borewell through taluk panchayat.

 

Geleyara Balaga president Satyaprakash, Yuva Spoorti president Santosh, Navachetana Mahila Mandal secretary Girija Samaga, former gram panchayat member Leena Noronha, B Bhaskar Shetty, Leslie Alva, entrepreneur Ramachandra Nayak, Shiva Kumar, Vishwanat Shetty, Padubelle local residents were present.
