Shirva: Rotary Zonal Sports Meet – Mulki Overall Champion

Shirva, 18 October 2011: In the Rotary Zonal Sports Meet hosted by Katapadi Rotary for the Rotary International District 3180 Zone 3, Mulki Rotary Club has won the Overall Championship. The sports meet was inaugurated by Mangalore University’s former Captain Y. Udayakumar in the morning on Sunday at Katapadi Palligudde grounds. Upon inaugurating he said that in sports it is not important to win or lose, but building up contacts and collaborating is more important, he said.
 
Chief Guest Deputy Governer K. Ramaraya Patkar along with the service, Rotary is conducting the sports activities so that among the members the family atmosphere will develop. The competitions have been conducted for children, women and elders separately he said. In the inaugural function on the dias Zonal Sports Director Raja Patrao, M.G. Nagendra, Y. Ranjan Hegde and Dr. Gururaja were present. President Jagannath welcomed. Mattu Harish Rao compeered the program. Rakshan Rai, Manjunath, Reyan Dias and Sunil were the judges.
 
In the concluding and awards distribution ceremony in the evening Udupi Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary distributed the awards.
