Mangaluru: Auto fare in city hiked from minimum Rs 25 to Rs 30 from Apr 1

Mangaluru, 28 Feb: The auto fare in the city will be revised from minimum of Rs 25 to Rs 30 with effect from April 1, said DK DC Sindhu B Rupesh.
Addressing the members of auto rickshaw drivers and owners Association, in the presence of RTO officials, here on Thursday, February 27, DC Sindhu further said that in addition of minimum fare, Rs 15 will be applicable per additional kilometers. The fare was revised based on hike in insurance premium, costs of spare parts and general maintenance.
She also advised the auto rickshaw drivers to be courteous to passengers and tourists at all times, follow traffic rules and safety precautions whilst taking school children.
Mangaluru Regional Transport Officer (RTO) K A Ramakrishna Rai, Puttur RTO K Anand Gowda, Assistant Police Commissioner M Manjunat Shetty, ASP Vikram V Amate, union leaders of auto rickshaw drivers and owners were present.
