Shirva: Gregory Noronha Memorial Cricket Tournament Held at Heroor-Bantakal

Shirva/Bantakal, 10 Feb: Two days long Gregory Noronha Memorial Cricket Tournament was held at Heroor - Bantakal on 8 and 9 February 2020. 16 teams participated in this tournament.
The tournament was organized by Vijay Dheeraj, a social worker who presided over the inaugural function on 8 February. Wilma Pereira-Para-Olympic Medallist was the chief guest of the inaugural function who inaugurated the two days long tournament.
Prakash Norohna, the guest of honour in his message highlighted the contribution of Gregory Noronha to the game of cricket and his dedication and love for the game.
Other dignitaries on the dais included Ramraya Patkar and Madav Kamath.
On this occasion J.P. Rao, Madhav Kamath, Udaya and George were felicitated.
Richard, Ramesh, Alwyn, Stany and others along with more than 100 locals were present.
The chief sponsor of the tournament was Vivian Noronha from Abudhabi.
Sugandhi Shetty recited prayer; Varsha introduced the chief guest and Henry compeered the programme.
Following the two days long tournament Heroor Friends were the Winners of the Gregory Noronha Memorial Trophy and Santhoor Friends were the Runners Up.
Vijay Dheeraj, Stany D’Sa and Dominic Noronha distributed the trophies and cash prizes.
