Mangaluru: Secular parties stage anti-CAA/NRC protest; demand probe into police firing

Mangaluru, 02 Jan: The secular parties including Congress staged protest in front of Town Hall, here on Wednesday, January 1 at 4.00pm, against NRC and CAA, condemning killing of protesters during police shootout on December 19.
KPCC members, district Congress office bearers, block Congress office bearers, ZP and TP presidents, municipal corporators and activists partaken in the protest.
DCC president Harish Kumar, former ministers Ramanath Rai and Abayachandra Jain, former MLA J R Lobo and MLC Ivan D’Souza were present.
Addressing the protesters, Ramanath Rai said that the policies of BJP-led union government are causing nationwide protests. He urged the state government to investigate on he circumstances that led to police killing 2 protesters.
A large number of general public were also present.
