Mangaluru: Elderly care by society see drop in old age homes - Meenakshi

Mangaluru, 02 Oct: The senior citizens deserve respect in the society that would see drop in old age homes. The society has erred in treating elderly with dignity, said DK ZP president Meenakshi Shantigodu.



Meenakshi was speaking after inaugurating International Senior Citizens Day at Netravati auditorium of ZP, here on Tuesday, October1.


‘We ought to teach our children to respect the elderly whose jest for life awe inspiring. Meanwhile, it’s our duty to respect veterans who are engaged in social welfare activities. Everyone born into this earth has to face old age. Everyone born into this earth has to face old age. We got to be sensitive to their needs,’ she said.


MLC Harish Kumar, ZP CEO Dr Selvamani, ZP vice president Kasturi Panja, district physically handicapped and senior citizens welfare officer Yamuna D, women and child welfare deputy director Sundar Poojary, women and child welfare officer Usman were present.
