Mangaluru: Congress observes 150th birth anniversary of Narayana Guru

Mangaluru, 17 Sep: District Congress Committee (DCC) observed 150th birth anniversary of Brahmashree Narayana Guru, the succor of poor and oppressed, during the function held at their office, here on Saturday, September 14.

 

 

Several veteran Congressmen including activists attended the programme.

 

The veterans said that the teachings of Narayana Guru had inspired the countrymen to stage struggle for freedom in pre-Independence era.  The teachings are relevant even at this modern era.

 

The dignitaries offered floral tribute to the portrait of Narayana Guru.
