Bantwal, 24 Dec: The historical Veera – Vikrama Kambala was inaugurated at Hokkadigoli, near here, on Saturday, December 22.
Asranna Krishnaprasad Acharya, temple celebrant of Mahishamardini temple, Hokkadigoli, after inaugurating the Kambala said that Kambala has religious orientation and recreation for the farmers.
DK district Kambala Committee general secretary Rajeev Shetty Yedtoor was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev said, ‘There have been reforms in Kambala after state legislation that got to be honored by Kambala organizers and the owners of racing buffaloes,’ he said. He urged the Kambala enthusiasts to co-operate in sustaining culture and Kambala.
The temple chief celebrant Prakash Acharya presided the programme.
DK district Kambala Committee president P R Shetty, honorary president Sanjeev Shetty Gundyar, Babu Rajendra Shetty and others were present.
