Legendary Yakshagana artiste Balipa Narayana Bhagavatha to get Parthisubba Award

Moodbidri, 19 Sep 2018: Noted Yakshagana artiste Balipa Narayana Bhagavatha has been selected for the Parthisubba Award of the Karnataka  Yakshagana Academy. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh.

 

 

Meanwhile "Jayalakshmi", a book authored by Balipa Narayana Bhagavatha has also been selected for the book award carrying Rs 25,000 cash prize.

 

The 80-year-old legendary artiste has been honored with several awards, including the Rajyotsava Award, Samaga, Sheni, Agari, Muddana Awards, Patla Award and Nudisiri Award.

 

The Parthisubba award ceremony will be held at Udupi during the end of September or the first week of October, informed Karnataka Yakshagana Academy President Prof. M A Hegde.
