Tulu Academy delegation meets new minister Dr Jayamala; seeks funds for ongoing project

Bengaluru, 14 Jun 2018: A delegation of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy led by its president A C Bhandary met the newly-appointed Kannada and culture minister Dr Jayamala at her residence, here, on Wednesday, June 13.

 

 

Bhandary urged minister Dr Jayamala to visit Tulu Bhavan in Mangaluru and briefed about the proposal sent to state government seeking additional funds of Rs 3.60 crore to complete the ongoing construction of second floor that will house museum and an auditorium with seating capacity of 1,000 people.

 

Dr Jayamala assured the delegation that she will visit the Tulu Bhavan shortly and advised to promote Tulu that has thousands of years of history with the view of educating the new generation.

 

Academy members A Shivanand Karkera and Taranat Gatti Kapikad, former member D M Kulal were present.
