Mangaluru, 19 Mar 2018: Srikar Prabhu, former state executive member of BJP, was ousted for six years from the party for his alleged anti-party activities in 2014. Being inactive for a while now, Prabhu has decided to contest as an independent candidate from Mangaluru South Constituency for the upcoming assembly elections.
“I will compete the elections as Prime Minister Modi’s follower, but without the party symbol. Though the poll symbol might be different I will approach people who believe in RSS-BJP ideology,” he said, elucidating his determination to contest the elections.
It is his aim to sincerely work without discrimination for the development of the people of the constituency, he added.
Being an ex-BJP insider and a strong RSS supporter, he may be well versed with BJP’s inner functioning and secrets which can put a dent on BJP’s vote share in the upcoming elections.
BJP is yet to finalize a candidate for the Mangaluru South Constituency, while Congress is most probably going to field MLA J.R. Lobo, who already represents this constituency.
