Moodubelle: Golden Jubilee memorial auditorium to be inaugurated on 4th July

Moodubelle, 29 June 2009: The St. Lawrence High school is all set to celebrate its golden jubilee with a series of programmes and events lined up for the year.

Highlighting the growth of the institution since its inception in 1959, he said it was started on with great efforts by Late Rev.Fr.A.F.D’Souza and parishioners. From then the institution never looked back, becoming one of the leading schools in the district, the growth was possible only because of the team effort that went into building the institution.

The activities and projects planned include cultural programmes, sports, , community service, and training programmes. The following projects were planned to meet the present day infrastructure requirements.

1. Extension of the play ground, track settings,
    gallery and other facilities                                                 Rs. 12,00,000.00
2. Renovation and furnishing of the college auditorium            Rs. 7,00,000.00
3. Renovating the class rooms in to computer lab.                  Rs. 3,00,000.00
4. Renovate the laboratory and provide facilities to library       Rs. 1,00,000.00
5. Repair as required the granite stone building                      Rs. 1,00,000.00
6. Renovate the staff room with facilities                                Rs. 1,00,000.00
7. Construction of toilets.                                                      Rs. 1,00,000.00
8. Fund for needy students                                                    Rs. 1,00,000.00


Some of these projects are moving at a brisk pace so as to complete all the work before the deadline set by the school management. One of the major project was to renovate the high school hall so as to meet the modern day requirements of the school and also to give a improved look to the school infrastructure.

Bellevision is pleased publish the photos of renovated hall and the Computer Lab of the various stages of its work. The renovated structure looks nice and spacious. The people who came to see it have marveled at the changes that took place in the hall within a short period of time. According to the Engineer, around 850 people could be easily accommodated. The stage is well decorated with art work. The painting part is yet to be done for the stage. The stage faced in two directions i.e. inside the hall and outside the hall as the open Stage is really spacious. The entrance of the stage is done in a traditional way befitting the Indian culture. The whole block is a “Golden Jubilee Memorial” which is fully tiled. Also it is planned to have the garden which will give added beauty.

Principal Fr.Paul Sequeira known for discipline at college / high school, being fully supported by staff members, students, their parents and parishioners who are tasting happiness and success at being at best in their job and for many as well wisher. Fr. Paul is striving hard to provide suitable amenities for the exploration of students talents and overall growth. In the process, no doubt St. Lawrence institution is fast establishing as a model institution. Already this college is attracting lot of students and their parents from neighboring and far away places outside the state of Karnataka too, just for quality & values it holds!

The inauguration of this is scheduled on 4th of July and school management committee extended their invitation to all old students, parents and well wishers.
