Udupi, Jul 24, 2014 : All the religions propagate peace in mankind. Islam preaches Allah’s graces lies in noble deeds. The divine graces can be had by fasting. The holy month of Ramadan gives an opportunity to get cleansed of sins by good deeds and charity, said Shirva – Jamia masjid mudaris Sirajuddin Zaini.
Sirajuddin was speaking during Iftar meet that was organized by Rotary Club International (RCI) – Shirva at West House - residence of RCI member Haji Rehmatulla Khader, Shirva, near here on Wednesday July 23.
There is no bias on rich and poor while praying in Islam. The fasting is not only meant for just the stomach but it’s applicable to the entire body. One should be cautious in deeds, speech and thoughts. The well off has to donate minimum of 2.5 kilograms of grains to poor, in order to cleanse the soul of sins. Ramadan is the symbol of brotherhood among poor and rich, said Sirajuddin.
RCI – Shirva president Dr N S Shetty welcomed the gathering and presided the programme.
Shirva – Jamia masjid governing council president Moideen Mohammed, Shirva gram panchayat president Hasanabba Shaikh, elders Meeran Abdul Khader and S Ismail, Shirva – St Mary’s College lecturer Vittal Nayak, Ajit D’Mello, Sriram P Marate were present on the occasion.
RCI district former assistant governor B Pundalika Marate explained the key objectives of RCI in fostering universal brotherhood.
