Udupi, 24 Feb 2014: Melody Music School and Kushi Play School, Shankarpura administered by Mrs. Vidya D’Sa celebrated second annual day on Sunday, 23 February 2014 at 2.30 pm. Mr. R.L. Upadhyaya, former Headmaster of Innanje High School presided over the annual day function. Rev. Dr. Leslie D’Souza, parish priest of St. John the Evangelist Church was the chief guest.
The students of both these schools presented their talents through singing, dance, playing musical instruments and exhibiting their paintings and art.
Rev. Dr. Leslie D’Souza and Mr. R.L. Upadhyaya appreciated the good work done by the twin schools in promoting education, dance, drawing and music among the children in their formative years.
While the Kushi Play School has 33 students, the Melody Music School has over 100 students who are distributed according to their interest and talents in drawing, Carantic Classical Vocal, Bharata Natyam and playing western musical instruments such as key-board, guitar and violin.
Those students who practice Bharata Natyam, Carnatic Classical Vocal, drawing are being trained to appear for the Government Grade Examinations. Those who practice Key-board can appear for the examination conducted by Sandesha Foundation, Mangalore and those who are being trained in guitar and violin can appear for the examinations conducted by the Trinity College of Music, London.
The students of the music school manifested their talents by playing various musical instruments during the annual day celebration. In the same way students also put up performances in dance, singing, etc.
