Udupi, 03 July 2012: It will be possible to publish the specific news which is obtained through right of information act, otherwise sometimes there is risk of some of the reports becoming without records, said Asha Krishnaswamy from Deccan Herald Bangalore. She was speaking upon inaugurating the New Paper Day on Sunday organized by Udupi Journalist’s Association.
Speaking on the occasion S.K. Shyamsunder Editor of oneindia.in said that the information should be easily available in the internet. The internet media is not just limited to the people of city. The internet is even easily available in the rural areas also. It was said that the internet media is the media of future, but it is already become the media of yesterday, he said. On this occasion senior Journalist Madhava Acharya was honoured with News Paper Day 2012 award.
Police Dy SP Dr. Prabhudeva Mane was the chief guest of the function. The program was presided over by the President of the Association Kiran Manjanabail. Secretary Jayakara Suvarna welcomed the guests and the gathering. Journalists Prasanna Gawkar and Rahim Ujire compeered the program. Treasurer Umesh Marpalli proposed vote of thanks.
Before the program the exhibition of the photography by the journalists was arranged. Prizes were distributed to the winners of High School and PUC students in the essay competitions held on the occasion of the program. At the end ‘Bhagya’ the national award winning movie was screened.
