Moodubelle, 02 August 2011: After a bout of continuous rains for many days there was some respite on Monday, August 1, 2011 as throughout the day people were spared from the wet-spell. However, by evening it started pouring again and incessant rains continued till morning of Tuesday, August 2 and even continued till evening causing moderate flood and inundating the well grown paddy in the low-lying fields especially near the river banks.
Compared to the mega flood in the last month, this is a moderate flood, fourth in a row during this monsoon. Enterprising young men with nets venture out during the floods for catching fish. They spread their nets, leave them for few hours and pull them with the catch. Invariably some fish is bound to be trapped in the net.
Continuous rains cause not only inconvenience to human beings who with less immunity, especially children, suffer from viral fever, but also animals such as cattle, dogs and even fowl find it difficult to cope with the wet atmosphere and damp weather.
