Udupi, 01 Mar 2017: The Prize Distribution Day of St Lawrence English Medium School, Moodubelle, near here was held on Tuesday, February 28, where the achievements of students in various streams were acknowledged and appreciated. Around 200 students were awarded for their exemplary performance.
The chief guest Dr Rajeshwari Koradkal, the president of the function and the correspondent Fr Clement Mascarenhas, Moodubelle parish council vice resident Vincent Fernandes, PTA representatives Rita D’Sa, Preema D’Souza and Francis Castelino along with the head teacher Veera Fernandes were escorted by SPL Reema Mathias to the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajeshwari Koradkal said that winning is not the priority but it is participation that counts. Winning or losing is a part of the game but all students must strive to achieve success.
The meritorious students in the academic field were awarded by LIC International branch manager Premnath.
In his presidential address, Fr Clement Mascarenhas instilled the spirit of dedication, diligence and hard work in all spheres of life. He said, ‘A student needs to set goals and must work towards it.’ He also blessed the students of Class X who will be appearing for their SSLC examinations in March and wished them all success.
Moreover, he congratulated the students of the outgoing batch for their 100 percent result.
Ashwini Kulal of Class IX welcomed the august gathering. Saniya D’Almeida proposed the vote of thanks. Swathi compered the programme.
Cultural program was held after the stage program where students participated enthusiastically.
