Moodubelle, 08 Jan 2017: The new Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) of St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle for a three years term was inaugurated during the 7.30 am mass on Sunday, 8 January 2017. The mass was concelebrated by Fr. Charles Menezes as the chief celebrant along with Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Fr. Reginald Pinto and Fr. Edwin D’Souza.
All the members of the PPC came in procession and occupied the front pews before the commencement of the mass.
Soon after the homily, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish Priest and President of the PPC administered the oath of office individually to Vice President-Vincent Fernandes, Secretary-Mrs. Latha D’Mello and Charles Quadros-Coordinator of 18 Diocesan Commissions at the parish level.

Oath of office to the entire Parish Pastoral Council was administered collectively to all the members of the Parish pastoral Council.
The members of the Parish Finance Committee were administered the oath of office and secrecy individually. These members included-Mrs. Meera Lobo, Mrs. Jacintha D’Souza, Dr. Judith Lobo, Valerian Noronha, Gerald Fernandes, Henry Fernandes, Dr. Eugene D’Souza and Marcel Lobo.
The new Gurkars of wards were also administered the oath office individually.

At the end of the mass, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas complimented members of the new Parish pastoral Council. He thanked the outgoing Vice President Alphonse K. Alva who had served the parish for two terms with dedication and sincerity.
About Vice President Vincent Fernandes
Vincent Fernandes, son of Antony and late Teresa Fernandes was born on 2 August 1973. After completing his high school education Vincent Fernandes acquired ITI Diploma. He worked as heavy equipment and crane operator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Israel. He also has experience in running hotel business in Bangalore and Mumbai. Recently he started organic farming in his own land and also distribution of fresh produce of organic farming.
Vincent Fernandes has around ten years experience in civil construction and has built more than fifty residential and commercial buildings. His business firm is known as Vince Construction and Transport.
As a youth leader, Vincent Fernandes has served as a member of Leo and Lions Club, secretary of Friends Club, Marne, president of ICYM and is presently animator of ICYM Moodubelle. Under his guidance, the ICYM has conducted a number of activities including cultural and sporting events.
Vincent Fernandes is married to Violet and has a daughter, Viola Teresa Fernandes.
About Secretary Mrs. Latha D’Mello
Born on 11 October 1974, Mrs. Latha Jacintha D’Mello was educated up to Second Year PUC. She served St. Anne II Ward for 16 years as Ward Representative. She had served for one and a half years as Secretary of Parish pastoral Council and was re-elected for another full term. She is married to Jerome D’Mello and has two daughter- Joshal and Jenishal.
Blessing of CD “Moga Sagor” (Ocean of Love) Konkani Devotional Songs
The CD “Moga Sagor” (Ocean of Love) comprising of devotional Songs in Konkani composed and directed by Fr. Valerian Mendonca and Fr. Clement Mascarenhas was blessed by Fr. Charles Menezes at the end of the mass.
The CD comprising of 10 devotional hymns was provided with orchestration by Praveen Duth Stephen and Harmonization by Markus Vallazza.
The entire cost of the production of the CD was sponsored by Valerian Alva, a native of Moodubelle, an entrepreneur in London and the Chief Trustee of Moodubelle Charitable Trust.
The proceeds from the sale of the CD will be utilized in the construction of the new parish hall.
