Moodbidri, 04 Nov 2016: The annual parish feast of St Martin De Porres Church, Belvai, near here was celebrated with utmost religious fervor on Thursday, November 3.
The parishioners and faithful in large numbers took part in the solemn Eucharistic Celebration concelebrated by 15 priests of different parishes across the deanery and 2 deacons.
Moodbidri deanery vicar Fr Paul Sequeria, was the main celebrant.
The day’s program began with the distribution of honors. The sponsors of the feast were honored with a candle personally handed over by the parish priest Fr Dr William Barboza.
The church surrounding got a festive look right from the Confraternity Sunday celebrated on Oct 30, till the Feast day on Thursday with all kinds of stalls in the church premises - sweets, entertainment, games and toys, clothing, juices, ice-creams and so on. The entire celebration was filled with faith, fun and frolic.
The parish choir group led by Fr Jesudas sung melodies hymns and added more meaning to the festal liturgy.
Fr Dr William Barboza, in his thanksgiving address wished all best wishes of feast and thanked each and everyone involved in making the feast a grand success.
Confraternity Sunday as part of Parish feast preparation was celebrated on Oct 30. Fr Kenneth Crasta, assistant parish priest of Alangar parish conducted the Adoration Service.
