Bantwal, 15 Jun 2016: The general awareness on child labor is essential, while Legal Services Authority is providing legal support that out to be well utilized, in order to make Dakshina Kannada district free from child labor, said Chandrashekar U, senior civil judge of JMFC of Bantwal and president of taluk Legal Services Committee.
Chandrashekar was speaking after inaugurating World Anti-Child Labor Day that was organized jointly by taluk Legal Services Committee, Bantwal Bar Association, PADI (NGO) – Mangaluru, Bantwal education resource Centre and Kavalamudoor gram panchayat at Rajeev Gandhi Seva Kendra, Kavalakatte, near here on Tuesday June 14.
Kavalamudoor gram panchayat president Santosh Punja presided the programme.
JMFC additional civil judge and taluk Legal Services Committee secretary R Mahesh, Bar Association president B V Shenoy, ZP member B Padmashekar Jain, assistant government prosecutor M S Ali, advocate Satish Kumar Shivagiri, labor inspector Merlin Grace, TP steering Committee president Dhanalaxmi C Bangera, Anganavady supervisor Vedavati, education resources Centre member Harris, Kavalamudoor Government Urdu School teaching staff and others were present.
The education resource Centre secretary advocate Shivaprakash welcomed the gathering. Bar Association secretary Rajaram Nayak proposed vote of thanks. PADI co-ordinator Rajeshwari compered the programme.
